Single Crochet Pattern for Afghans

The single crochet afghan pattern can make a simple but elegant afghan. The single crochet stitch for afghans often use varied colors for strips or it can be used for a continuous dense color for the afghan.

The single crochet style afghan is often used for throws for a chair, couch, or bed. The reason being is  that the density of the single crochet  can make larger  throws or covers to heavy to use.

Granny Square Afghan

The granny square afghan shapes are generally circles, squares, or a combination of the two. The granny squares are crocheted separately  then sewn together to form the afghan. The granny squares often use a double and single crochet to form the blocks.

Chevron Stripe

The chevron strip afghan is often made using various colors in the same color scheme. The chevron strip often looks like waves when more than one color is being used.
